I am Ankie Daanen...... with a passion for dolls with a soul.
For more than 35 year I am a professional dollmaker, teacher and pupil, and almost every day I work on my dolls and try to make the ultimate doll that tells everything I want to say.

I like my dolls to be sad, happy and even mystic. That they give you the feeling to have a life and a soul and I hope that you recognize some of that in my dolls. I try to reach an intimate connection with the human spirit. And perhaps that transformes the doll in a piece of art. I hope so.

The basic of dollmaking is craftmanship, but it goes beyond this. Dollmaking involves expression and recognizing emotions, along with high-quality craftmanship and materials.
That means for me "Dollmaking is a never ending story".
